The spaces in which we live and work should be comfortable, functional and inspiring. We work closely with our clients to develop and enhance the building space and exceed expectations.

Project #3
Church Refurbishment

Project 3: Church Refurb

The client’s brief was to refurbish, extend and alter an existing church to allow the premises to improve and develop new services that could be offered to the local community. The project included for new ramped access and provision of a new internal lift to improve access in and around the building.

Also required were new I.T suites, meeting rooms, much needed storage space and kitchen to serve the main multi – purpose hall. The design added new glass doors to invite people through the building. Clear glass panels replaced old obscure glass allow the old stained glass windows within the sanctuary to be viewed from the main hall.

Project #4
School Conversion

Project 4: School Conversion

Over many years JPH Architects have undertaken a variety of Health Care related Projects from small-scale extensions to residential Nursing homes and EMI facilities, to larger new build and more complex needs such as autistic units, such as the one illustrated.

In all cases and in addition to the normal statutory approvals such as Planning and Building Regulations, we are obliged to undertake an assessment against the National Minimum care standards. Often for more complex or specific user groups we undertake all-inclusive design services.

These include providing facilities which not only create space but assist in the development detail including the fabric and finishes which contribute to the holistic approach for the care and rehabilitation of the residents.

Project #5
Commercial

Project 5: Commercial

Commercial/industrial developments come with a set of specific individual requirements in terms of functionality. These often extend not only to spatial aspects of the project relating to operational requirements, but also to the materials and finishes, both internally and externally.

Our approach to any process building, such as the one illustrated, is to ensure a full and complete Client specification is created. Crucial to the preparation of a design is a full and clear understanding of the workings of the client’s processes to be integrated into the concept.

The design of the building and external works is often constrained by a whole set of environmental factors such as pollution/sound as well as the normal visual issues associated with industrial/commercial buildings and their impact onto their surroundings. We at JPH believe that the design process for commercial/process industrial buildings requires a high level of Architectural involvement at the outset.
